One of the biggest causes of people failing to accomplish their goals and feel successful is a lack of clarity. While we might have a general idea about a goal or direction we want to take in our life, we are often unclear about the specifics. Think about a photograph. In order to be clear, the camera lens needs to be in focus. When the lens is out of focus, the picture will turn out blurry and indistinct. How many times have you taken a photograph and been disappointed by the result once you realized that the focus was off? Faces or objects are blurred, maybe even unrecognizable. You quickly delete and discard it because it was a poor quality picture that did not meet the ideal you had in mind when you took it. You might scratch it up to experience and try again. Maybe you blame it on the camera itself. Ultimately, the quality of the "pictures" that show up in the reality of your life are also largely due to proper focus. First, the idea must be clearly held in mind. The result you desire to manifest in your life must be clearly and distinctly created in your imagination. It must be ‘in focus’ with the components clearly defined, seen, and envisioned. Second, as you go about the process of ‘doing’ what is necessary to effectuate the picture, you must remain focused on your goal and not allow yourself to get distracted by what is going on in the world around you. I know this seems very basic and simple in nature. And, it is. But, ask someone to describe what they truly desire in their life and most of the time, you will not be able to get a clear description from them. Perhaps they can offer some generalizations. But, people rarely offer clear specifics. They lack the clarity to bring their biggest dreams and desires into fruition. Can you relate? Another thing individuals who lack clarity often do is simply share what they *don't* want. Here is an example: Them: "I want health, wealth and happiness" Me: "So what does health mean to you?" Them: "Well, you know, to not be sick." Me: "So what does wealth mean to you?" Them: "To not be lacking." In this example, and I am sure you can think of many others, the picture is unclear and the individual is focused on what is not in it, instead of what is in it. The trouble with focusing on not being unwell is that you are still focusing on un-wellness, not wellness. The focus is on lack and limitation and not on abundance and potentiality. Most people seem to know what they do NOT want. And, getting crystal clear on what you don't want can be an excellent first step on the path to seeking clarity. But, too many people stop right there. Ultimately, you get the picture you have focused on.
How clear and exact are your ideals? How much desire, longing, and passion is attached to them? Are they attached to a bigger "why"? How focused is the image in your mind? And, is that image focused on what you WANT to bring about rather than what you don't want? Gain clarity on these questions and watch your life unfold.
